How to get to National Army Museum
The Home Army Museum is located in the center of Krakow, at ul. Wita Stwosza 12. The distance from the Main Railway Station is about 700 meters, the walk will take 10 minutes.
From Rynek Główny it takes about 20 minutes to walk walk and the distance is approximately 1.8 km.

What exhibitions will you see in National Army Museum
The aim of the exhibition is to present a comprehensive picture of the Polish resistance movement during World War II and the life of the Polish nation. The exhibition is divided into two levels. At one of them you can learn about the history of the Second Polish Republic, the geopolitical situation before the outbreak of World War II and the course of the September Campaign in 1939. The following sections present everyday life and conditions in occupied Poland.
In the basements, visitors can explore the history of the Polish Underground State. Special thematic rooms concern the most important aspects of the resistance movement’s activities, such as sabotage, sabotage, intelligence and information activities of the Home Army.
Replicas and mock-ups, such as the Vickers E tank, the V2 rocket, and the interior of the Halifax plane, are also available to visitors. You can see, among others: reports by Witold Pilecki, the uniform of General Tadeusz Bor-Komorowski, the work by Tadeusz Kantor “The September Defeat”, as well as numerous memorabilia of General Emil Fieldorf “Nil”.
The Home Army Museum in Krakow regularly organizes temporary exhibitions that present various aspects of history and culture related to the Polish Underground State and its heritage. Currently you can see two temporary exhibitions:
- „Poets of the Underground. Word and deed”the exhibition is available from June 5, 2024 to October 2, 2024. It presents the profiles and works of poets involved in conspiratorial activities during the war. It contains unique manuscripts, personal notes and underground volumes, as well as other valuable artifacts from various museums.
- „Military in comics” exhibition is available from April 1, 2024 to September 30, 2024. Presents comics devoted to military and war topics, including well-known titles from the Polish People’s Republic, such as „Captain Kloss“, „Four tank men and a dog“, “Underground Front“ and „Tytus, Romek and A’Tomek”, as well as contemporary publications about the independence underground and famous battles. The exhibition also includes historical comics created by local artists.
The library at the Home Army Museum is an invaluable source of knowledge about the Polish Underground State, the Home Army and the history of World War II.
There is a rich collection there, currently numbering 14,599 items, which includes books, magazines, documents and other source materials. The library also contains archival and contemporary historical periodicals. The collection includes unique documents, letters, reports and manuscripts that will shed light on the functioning of the Polish Underground State and the activities of the Home Army.
